My 4 year old son is very active but according to growth charts he is overweight. Am I becoming an obsessive mum? Am I reading the charts properly or should I judge as I see

Thanks for your question.  Children’s weight status can vary considerably as they grow and develop.  If your son is showing on growth charts as being overweight – or at risk of overweight – then it’s good to be mindful of this and to continue to give him opportunities to be physically active and also to keep an eye on what, and how much, he’s eating.  It would be good to continue to monitor this over the coming months but do try not to worry too much as becoming obsessive could turn this into more of a problem.

We hope this helps.  Good luck!
